• Earlier today, George emailed me with a pretty solid take on the Black Treacle/Suck It And See/Evil Twin video storyline, likening it to the Biblical story of Samson. [If you missed that, read it here and then come back before continuing.]

• That seemed plausible so I posed the question to Focus Creeps: is it true? I expected an open ended or vague answer. Instead, my question was met with a blunt matter-of-factness that frankly made me feel dumb. Duh. Well, yeah, when you put it like that I guess it is pretty obvious after all. 

• So there it was: Samson is the “thing” about the videos. At the time, that revelation felt like closure, so I barely gave the link they posted more than a brief scan.

• Well, eventually I did read it. Why link to Delilah instead of Sampson? Because she matters just as much? Or because their relationship matters just as much as… OH!  

• And then I shat bricks.

•  Well, alright then. What do Delilah and Samson mean?

• Well that last bit sounds familiar…

• That line, of course, happens to be the last line of She’s Thunderstorms - more importantly, the “introduction” to Black Treacle. Likewise, it’s possible that lyric could foreshadow what will play out on screen… but that only helps if we know what the night does to the day:

• Alright, so Samson’s back story ends up being relevant to all this, but we’ll get back to that. For now it’s all about Delilah:
